I should like to express my sincere gratitude to God for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. Great joy has come to me through the understanding that man is not a helpless victim of disease, as mortal mind would have us believe. It is eight years since I first heard of this Science and came into it for healing. I had been constantly under the care of doctors, specialists, chiropractors, and dietitians. They said I was in a state of nervous collapse, and they told me I would always have neuritis in different parts of my body.

After turning to Christian Science, I studied the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, but I did not appear to be progressing. One day when I was feeling very weak, a student of Christian Science called to pay me a visit. He had recently come to live close by and was attending the branch church of which I had become a member. I told him I felt sure be had been sent to me. He told me he would be very pleased to be of help. If ever anyone needed help at that moment, it was I. He told me the truth of God and man, and I enjoyed an uplifting of thought. He helped me several times after this, and each time I felt better afterwards.

Then one day, feeling very fearful and greatly exhausted, I sought help from him again. His wife kindly called him from his work, and in a matter of minutes he was in my home, telling me of my real self and of the oneness, or unity, of God and man. Whilst he was talking, I felt all fear leave me, and I had a great spiritual awakening. Three words he spoke will always stand out clearly in my memory. They were these: "Can God collapse?" When I hesitated, he again repeated the question.
