As a child I so yearned to obey...

As a child I so yearned to obey the commands of Jesus that I wept when my father, an orthodox minister, said that he could not heal the sick. For many years I struggled unsuccessfully to conquer fear, lack, and sin through human will and to achieve some control over my temper and other undesirable traits of character. At last, at a time when I was completely confused and discouraged over my prospects for health, financial security, and a happy home life, I witnessed the instantaneous healing through Christian Science of a friend who had a severe attack of bursitis. Upon inquiring about her healing I was given a copy of The Christian Science Journal. The testimonies of healing filled me with joy and hope. I knew I had found that for which I had always longed, and I turned wholeheartedly to the study of this wonderful revelation.

Since that time I have used no material remedies, but have relied solely on God through Christian Science. Early in my reading of the textbook. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of the need of wearing glasses, which I had been told I must always wear, and also of what doctors and my parents had considered a hereditary condition that caused much pain and trouble in digestion. Just through my reading, reasoning, and holding to the precious truth, cuts, colds, and other ailments were healed instantaneously.

When my children were small they were protected from childhood diseases. Through the loving work of a practitioner I was healed of facial paralysis, effects of a stroke, an inharmonious condition occurring at change of life, and a serious gall bladder and liver condition. While expressing aloud my great gratitude for all the good I had received, I was healed of a distressing condition of hemorrhoids. My gratitude for these and many other healings is too great to be fully expressed in words.
