"Testimony in regard to the...
"Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important." These words were written by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and are a part of Article VIII, Section 24, of the Manual of The Mother Church. I wish to tell of a healing which proved that the truth Jesus used is here today to heal and to redeem.
A few years ago at the end of a happy day of accomplishment I very suddenly became seriously ill. The illness took the form of paralysis, and I was unable to turn my head, to walk, or to see normally. I had been a student of Christian Science for many years and had many times known the truth which healed members of my family and myself. In this instance, however, I considered it wise to have the help of a practitioner.
I shall ever be grateful to the practitioner and her husband, who came to my home immediately to sustain me and to assist me. Many were the vital truths that were given me to hold in my consciousness while the practitioner prayed for me. In less than a week I was able to turn my head, to walk, and to see with normal vision. A few days later I made an overnight trip on the train to be with a member of my family, and my complete freedom followed.
