Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Elmira, will be dedicated at special services on Sunday....

The church building at Church and Walnut Streets was purchased in 1924. In 1951 the church was extensively remodeled inside and out and an organ was purchased. More recently, additional alterations were made to provide Sunday School facilities on the second floor. The building has been fireproofed and a fire escape placed in the rear. The renovation program also included the installation of an entirely new heating system and new lighting facilities.
