SCIENTIFIC REGULATION

Believing the source of all power to lie in matter, men have been working diligently to discover material methods for controlling bodily function, human behavior, the productivity of agriculture, the conduct of business, and the government of nations. But the search in matter for the regulating power has failed. Though many theories have been developed, none stand the test, none have been proved thoroughly reliable, none can be depended upon to produce without variation the desired control. The reason for this failure is simple—the power to regulate does not exist in matter.

Christian Science reveals the fact that all power, all regulation, all control, belong to God alone. Therefore to learn more about regulation men must learn more about God. Mary Baker Eddy declares in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 390): "It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony."

Christian Science presents this right understanding of God, which is so essential to mankind. It shows God to be the one directing intelligence, which creates, sustains, and regulates the whole universe, including man. It reveals God to be infinite Spirit, the substance of all identity, consciousness, and action. God fills all space as Life, Truth, and Love, which constitute the divine Principle, or the one governing, controlling lawmaker.
