"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and...

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits" (Ps. 103:2). For over thirty years Christian Science has been my only help in problems of sickness, business, and daily needs. During these years I have never had to stay in bed through sickness, because Science has always given me understanding and strength to carry on my daily duties. With a heart full of loving gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I should like to tell of some of my experiences in Christian Science.

One day I cut my hand on a broken milk bottle. The hand bled badly, and I wrapped a cloth around it. By this time I was feeling weak, and I sat down holding the cut hand with the other one, thinking that this might stop the bleeding. Then I asked myself, "If there are no accidents, why am I sitting here nursing matter?"

Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 519), "God rests in action," and I knew that a broken bottle could not retard true action. I began preparing a meal, using the hand when necessary. The bleeding stopped at once. There was no more pain or swelling, and the healing was complete.
