A Privilege and Responsibility

The spiritual education of youth is a sacred trust. In the seventy-eighth Psalm each generation is exhorted so to teach the children that they may "set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments."

Today's children the world over need this education above all else. In all children—war orphans, who know not the tender love of their Father-Mother God, juvenile delinquents, bilnd to their true status as the offspring of Soul, misguided youth, deflected by false ideologies, besides a host of promising boys and girls, ready for a higher and more practical Christianity than they have yet been offered—all waiting for the light of the Christ, Truth, to illumine their path.

Every Christian Scientist has an obligation to youth. Every Christian Scientist has grand opportunity to support what has been called the greatest youth movement the world has ever known: the Church of Christ, Scientist, through its Sunday Schools, is engaged in lifting from the world's children the false claims of deprivation, limitation, and degradation, which animal magnetism would seek to impose upon them and to replace these false claims with an awareness of the glorious possibilities which are theirs as children of God.
