AN INDESTRUCTIBLE RELATIONSHIP

There is always boundless welcome for us from God, for God is Love. He has always loved us and always will, even if we have been hardly conscious of it. For we are His and belong to Him. That is why mankind is ever innately yearning for more of the spiritual comfort, presence, and strength of the Father.

The Bible records Paul's words (Rom. 8:38, 39), "I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." What glorious assurance this statement gives of the Love that must always surround us, more closely even than air.

We may ask ourselves, "Why, then, do we seem to have to struggle so to really know God?" Actually, we should not have any struggle at all, for He is right here with us now. The question should never be, "Is God with us?" for that is an eternal fact; but rather should we ask, "Is our thought with Him?" Mary Baker Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 470, 471), "The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knowsno lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history." This vital relationship that exists between God and man bases all spiritual thinking.
