"THE MULTITUDE THRONG THEE"

In the eighth chapter of Luke we find the story of the woman who was instantly healed of an "issue of blood" from which she had suffered for twelve years. She had been under medical care, but the physicians had not been able to cure her.

When this healing took place, Jesus was on his way to the house of Jairus, who had just asked him to come to his home because his little daughter was expected to die. "But as he went the people thronged him." This sick woman was behind him, and when she touched the border of Jesus' robe, she was healed.

Jesus, knowing that someone had been healed, asked who had touched him. The disciples answered, "Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee." But Jesus insisted that someone had been healed, and the woman came forward and told him what had happened. Jesus said to her, "Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace."
