"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (I Thess. 5:18). In accordance with this Bible admonition I wish to share with others the boundless gratitude I feel toward God.

It is a joy to remember the guidance I received in a Christian Science Sunday School, where I learned of God through the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I was taught how to study the weekly Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and I remain profoundly grateful for the daily help this systematic study provides. Healings of sickness have often resulted from the better understanding of God I have gained in this way.

Christian Science has protected me from all desire to indulge in drinking or smoking by showing that these habits are vices which would control our actions through claiming to provide a form of satisfaction. However, the consciousness of man's completeness as God's image and likeness is the only real satisfaction we can know.
