After going from Sunday School to Sunday School from the time I was thirteen until I was nineteen, I requested a young woman to take me to a Christian Science Sunday School. There I had the wonderful experience of realizing. "Here is an explanation of the truth I have always believed." This acknowledgment lifted me out of an inharmonious family problem, for which I had prayed to know an answer for ears. Then I joined The Mother Church and a branch church, and a constant lack of many things was completely replaced by abundance.

Later a child in our care was healed of mastoiditis through the loving help of a practitioner, who advised me to use as much of Christian Science as I knew. I did so, and one night my thought was illumined with Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." So completely did I become aware of this truth that the child was healed.

There followed a physical condition which was manifested in headaches, sinus infection, a back difficulty, and other ailments. I had relied on a practitioner's help in former problems, but this time the practitioner said, "It comes to me that you should do your own work. This I began to do, although with much trepidation. The more I studied, the more uncovering there was of false pictures which had accumulated along the way. One day, three months later, after many a struggle on my part, a partially inactive condition of the arms disappeared. Soon friends remarked that I looked many years younger, and glasses were forgotten. One healing experience followed another, until my friends' astonishment at the change in me made me realize that a great transformation had taken place.
