Christian Science was presented to me by my mother-in-law, after I had experienced a miscarriage. I agreed to have a Christian Science practitioner work for me, and in a short time all sense of loss was healed. I then became a student of Christian Science.

The medical law which had been pronounced at this time was that it would be impossible for me to have children. I studied all the references to creation in the Concordances to the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's works. Two years after the experience related we had a daughter, and later two more children were added to our family. No medicine was taken or anesthetic used at the births of any of these children. A month before our second child was born. I experienced divine protection when I fell down seventeen steps without injury either to myself or to the baby. The birth itself was painless and harmonious.

When our oldest daughter had just begun to walk, she fell on the hot register of the floor furnace and severely burned her legs and the palms of her hands. The truth was immediately declared, both audibly and silently. The pain stopped, and she took her nap as usual. Soon there was no trace of the burns.
