ACQUAINTANCE WITH GOD

"Acquaint now thyself with him [God], and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee" (Job 22:21). How could one be at peace with a misconception of God? How boundless should be our gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy, whose pure thought was prepared to glean from the Scriptures and give to mankind the revelation of God as infinite good, reflected by nothing but good!

Christian Science declares the truth of God's allness and goodness to us, and when we pray (Matt. 6:10). "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven," we can be certain that that will is always good. We need never fear that God may send evil as well as good. The will of our Father for each one of us is perfect, even though to human sense this may not appear true. Consequently, when the tempter would have us believe otherwise, our faith in God as divine, unchanging, and impartial Love, the great Giver of all good, is unshaken e can even sing through such testing times, "All is well," because we know that we cannot be outside infinite Love's embrace and that nothing can dispute our heritage of dominion over every claim of evil.

Even children very readily discern that God as universal Love can be everywhere present. They know that the principle of mathematics, which they use in their schoolwork, can be used by everyone at the same time, all over the world; accordingly they can understand that God as Principle, Mind, Truth, is available to all of us, at all times and in all places.
