I am very grateful for Christian Science...
I am very grateful for Christian Science and for the many blessings it has brought to me and mine. This Science came to me in an hour of great need. Following a period of prolonged physical and mental strain soon after completing my college work, I became ill and was forced to resign my position as a teacher. I visited several physicians and finally went to one of the leading medical clinics, but received no help and no encouragement from the doctors there. Whenever I heard of another specialist, I would go for examination, but none of them could offer even temporary relief.
About this time one of my mother's dear friends who had seen some wonderful healings through the power of God as revealed in Christian Science urged us to try this religion, which, she assured us, would heal me. She was not a Christian Scientist, but her confidence in its healing power impressed us, and we began to read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and the Christian Science periodicals. Help was sought from practitioners at various times, and while the healing was slow, there was a glimmer of hope. When it became evident to me that there was a slight improvement in my physical condition, I gained confidence to study more faithfully. A devoted student and friend spent many hours with me, showing me how to study and apply the truths I was learning. Gradually, as my thought was lifted to gain clearer views of God and of man as His beloved child, I was completely healed. I had been considered a frail and delicate child from birth; but this false law has been annulled, and I have enjoyed years of abounding health and strength.
Many other physical healings have occurred in our family. Among them were healings of broken bones, sprained ankles, high blood pressure, stoppage of the bowels, and severe indigestion. There have been wonderful instances of protection, correction of wrong traits of character and disposition, and guidance in making decisions.
