GOD IS ALWAYS READY

Mary Baker Eddy says (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 178), "The remote cause or belief of disease is not dangerous because of its priority and the connection of past mortal thoughts with present."

Treatment in Christian Science sometimes uncovers the patient's fear that because he has wrestled with his problem for a long period of time, his chances of healing are thereby lessened. Frequently the practitioner is told by such a patient: "I have endured this trouble for years. Maybe it has such a strong hold on me after all this time that I should not expect a healing."

Yet this patient would readily admit that no matter how long a mathematical mistake had existed, the minute the mistake was uncovered, the time preceding the uncovering would no longer be considered. Time could not possibly affect the final and right answer. Innumerable solar years beating down upon wrong figures, though the figures had been carved in the most lasting materials and had been accepted by millions of men, would not prevent correction. Thus we see that error does not gather power and authenticity merely because its baseless nature has long remained undiscovered and undenied.
