When about six years of age I became very ill. The doctor told my parents that he could do no more for me. My family then asked for help in Christian Science, and I was healed within a week. I began to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, and as a result I was hardly ever ill during the rest of my childhood.

When my daughter was a baby, her hand went through the wringer of a washing machine. I picked her up, and without looking at the hand, I began singing hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal. In about ten minutes she stopped crying. Then I called a practitioner for help, and in a little while my daughter was playing, using both hands. All effects of the accident soon disappeared. This daughter was seldom sick, but when she was about five she had blood poisoning in her leg. The condition did not yield right away to Christian Science treatment, and members of my family wanted to send her to the hospital for an operation. She remained at home, however, and Christian Science help was continued. The result was that she was completely healed.

During World War II we had to move. Prayerful work was done, and although houses were scarce, we found one which suited our needs better than the one we had left. When my daughter discovered that a valuable necklace was gone, we refused to believe that there could be any loss under God's government. The necklace was found in some wood shavings on the playground of the school which my daughter attended.
