LOVE ESSENTIAL IN WORKING FOR DEDICATION

It is love which builds and decicates a Church of Christ, Scientist. Christ Jesus knew so much about God and His love and expressed it so clearly that just to be in his presence was to feel the comfort and healing which the understanding of God as Love brings to men.

A friend of mine, whose mother was a Christian Science practitioner in Texas, told me that one June when her mother was going to the Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, she took her along. It was one of the years when Mrs. Eddy invited the members of The Mother Church to visit her at Pleasant View, in Concord, New Hampshire. This friend said that she did not remember anything Mrs. Eddy said on that occasion; but she did remember that when she saw our Leader standing on the balcony, with her hands outstretched to the great crowd below, she herself had never felt so loved before. She felt surrounded and enfolded in the great love which our Leader manifested.

Church members who follow their Way-shower and their Leader in expressing this love to one another often find their church free of debt sooner than they thought possible. Paul said to the Romans (13:8), "Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law."
