It is with sincere gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought me that I give this testimony. The Bible verse, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matt. 6:33), was called to my attention by a Christian Science practitioner when I asked her for treatment.

A room had already been reserved for me in a local hospital, where I was to have a surgical operation on an internal organ. As I left the practitioner's home she said, "Remember, you have not gone to the hospital yet." The next morning a condition arose which made it impossible for me to be taken to the hospital. I called the practitioner and told her what had happened. She said that if I would study the weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly she would work for me. This I did, and by the afternoon of that day I knew that I would not have the operation. It took a little while for the physical condition to clear up, because I needed to put God first in all things. I was healed of the difficulty, and in the eighteen years since then there has been no recur rence of it. I became a co-owner of a business and for three years was on my feet many hours a day without the slightest discomfort.

Throughout the years Christian Science has met my every need. I have been healed of quinsy, a nervous breakdown, influenza, and many other ills. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her pure, unselfish life, which made possible her revelation of Christian Science, and for the wonderful illumination thrown on the Scriptures by the textbook, Science and Health.
