INCOME AND SUPPLY
Christian Science rejects the popular belief that income is necessarily material and reveals its true nature. Through the right understanding of real income and the intelligent use of it, men and women can have an abundance of daily supplies.
According to human belief, our daily supplies—food, clothing, shelter, and the like—are material; and therefore it is believed that the income which provides these supplies must be material also. Such income is usually thought of as money derived from physical labor, human business, or from ownership of material property, and so forth.
According to Christian Science, God's way of supplying man is wholly spiritual, independent of varying material conditions. Since Christian Science teaches that God, Spirit, is All-in-all, it follows logically that Spirit, not matter, must be the sum and substance of all income. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, on page 307 of her book "Miscellaneous Writings," tells us of the source and beneficial action of real income. She says, "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies." This real income is unlimited, inexhaustible, and forever available to all of God's children.
