LETTERS TO THE PRESS FROM CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

[Your critic] states that "the garbs of Christian Science are as old as the ages, and as 'moth-eaten' too." The eternal verities or truths found in the Bible relating to God, man, and God's universe, are indeed as old as the ages, for Truth—by its very nature—is unchanging and eternal. The truths of Christian Science regarding the supremacy of spiritual power over matter and its beliefs of sin, sickness, and death, the ever-presence and availability of God, and the recognition of Christ Jesus as the Son of God and the Saviour or Way-shower, can hardly be termed "moth-eaten," for they are basic to genuine Christianity, and are being proved vitally potent today in the lives of thousands.
Christian Scientists accept the statement (Gen. 1:31): "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." If this is true, as Christian Scientists believe it is, they can hardly be accused of being absurd when they classify evil, sin, sickness, disease, and death as unreal—not God-created. Furthermore, Christ Jesus proved the unreality of these false beliefs when they were subjected to the reality of Spirit and spiritual might.
