Christian Science means everything...

Christian Science means everything to me because through it I have found, as did Mary of old, that only "one thing is needful" (Luke 10:42). My one desire now is to learn more of God. Never a day passes that I do not say, "Thank You, dear Father, for our Way-shower, Christ Jesus; for Christian Science; and for Mary Baker Eddy, who gave us our textbook, 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.' "

Christian Science healed my mother of a cancerous tumor after physicians had told her that she would die if she did not undergo an operation. Later, when she was nearly eighty, she had a stroke which paralyzed her entire left side and affected her speech. That condition was beautifully healed through the loving work of a Christian Science practitioner.

When I was a child of seven, I had scarlet fever and diphtheria combined. My two sisters had had these diseases before I was born, so our mother knew what they were, but she also knew that they had no power over God's child. My father was so much disturbed that she asked him to go to a practitioner, feeling that she could not work for me if she had to allay his fear also. All one night and the next day I was conscious of her presence, and that was about all. She said that when I appeared to be passing on she clung tenaciously to the thought of God as Life. The second day I was able to have my clothes on and to sit up in a chair. The third day I was playing about the house. I remember being very grateful for Christian Science.
