THE SUNDAY SCHOOL

As sunlight through the window glass
Rests radiantly on every class—
On children's faces, lifted, sweet
And eager, as their lips repeat
Commandment or Beatitude,
Or testify their gratitude
For healing, guidance, blessings sent
From God, from Love omnipotent—
So, to the teachers' prayerful thought,
As words of light and truth are sought,
Love lends a glow, effulgent, clear,
To light the paths which, starting here,
Lead on through years of active good.
Love's tender father-motherhood,
Reflected in each radiant face,
Is seen in this illumined place.
