It is with great joy that I testify...

It is with great joy that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. In my family we have witnessed many proofs of the power of God's law. The healing I write of here is the one which led to my becoming an earnest student of this wonderful Science.

One day I suddenly became quite ill. I was taken to a hospital and given a thorough examination by a physician. The physician informed me that an immediate operation was necessary because of an internal congestion, which prevented proper elimination. I was very fearful of having an operation, but also very fearful of not having it.

In my extremity I turned to God, and the thought came to trust Christian Science to heal me. Prior to this time I had studied Science spasmodically, attended church from time to time when convenient, and read Mrs. Eddy's writings a little. I had often wondered what I would do if a testing time came —and here it was. I informed the doctor that I wanted to go home, and he said, "You will he hack in the hospital in a matter of months, because you cannot expect to live without an operation."

When I arrived home I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner and, after explaining what had happened, asked for help. With great conviction he assured me that I would get it. After this I felt that my very life was at stake, and I started to study Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy in earnest. As I studied I became aware that man is a spiritual idea, created in God's image and likeness, whole and complete. Mrs. Eddy tells us (Science and Health, p. 297): "Erroneous belief is destroyed by truth. Change the evidence, and that disappears which before seemed real to this false belief, and the human consciousness rises higher." This did indeed happen. Within one week I was out of bed and completely free from the physical symptoms. This healing, which occurred about ten years ago, has been permanent. It was a definite proof to me of the healing power of God. I am so grateful that Science has been revealed to the world, and that we can know the truth and be free.—(Mrs.) Frances Neiman, Beverly Hills, California.

I should like to testify to the authenticity of the foregoing testimony by my wife and to acknowledge my gratitude for Christian Science and for all that it has done for our family. As a result of my wife's healing she and I became members of The Mother Church and a branch church. We find great joy in being able to serve God through church activities, and in so doing we are better able to understand what Mrs. Eddy means when she says (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."—Oscar Neiman.
