Christian Science has proved to be "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Ps. 119: 105), in innumerable ways since I commenced its study. An ever-increasing understanding and appreciation of the Bible and the writings of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, has certainly made possible more logical and clear-sighted decisions in all my daily activities.

Although I wore glasses during my school and college years, after I took up the study of Christian Science I found no need for glasses and put them aside. When I began to see Christ, Truth, as revealed by Mrs. Eddy, my vision became normal. Science has been a constant help with the raising of our two children. They have had healings of car trouble, sore throat, infections, bee and wasp stings, mumps, measles, fevers, intestinal trouble, coughs, and colds.

A few years ago our little daughter, then about three years old, was playing nearby while I was doing some remodeling inside our barn. I had a heavy crowbar hanging over a beam above where I was working and driving nails. The hammering shook the crowbar loose from the beam, and it fell point down onto the little girl's head. I saw it fall, but was not able to catch it. I was, however, able to declare the truth that there is no destructive element in God's kingdom. The force of the blow might have been expected to pierce the child's skull, but it made only a surface scratch on the top of her head and brought only a momentary whimper from the little girl.
