With humble gratitude I should like to submit this testimony and to give thanks for the understanding I am gaining of the Bible through our Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. We read in Psalms (90:12), "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." As I take note of my daily thoughts and apply myself to gaining greater spiritual understanding, I find increasing harmony.

Before becoming a student of Christian Science, I had had a number of operations for a condition that caused periodic fainting. No relief came to me, however, until I began the study of Christian Science and gave up all material remedies. This I was led to do through an advertisement of a Christian Science lecture I saw in one of our local papers. All I recall of the advertisement are the words, "Christian Science Heals." My daughter was in the room at the time, and I told her that I was going to the lecture because I needed relief from somewhere.

I cannot remember what the lecturer said, but it interested me so much that I went to a Reading Room and bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I studied every spare minute I had. I have never had another fainting spell. How wonderful it is to be free from that trouble, and from all fear of it. Pain and swelling in my feet, which bothered me whenever I stood or walked, have also been healed through reliance on God, and colds have been overcome.
