Christ Jesus was always ready to meet every situation which presented itself to him. And his ability to carry on his mission of great works was in a large measure due to his many periods of prayer and to his willingness to listen for and to obey God's voice. Referring to the preparation which all must make for true living, the prophet Isaiah wrote (40:4), "Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain."
