For nearly forty years I have been helped and healed by Christian Science. As a child I was very weak and nervous and constantly under the care of physicians. In my association with a playmate whose family were Christian Scientists, I began to notice that she never was troubled by illness. I asked my mother if we could try Christian Science. She agreed, and since that time my mother and I have relied entirely on its effective support. I learned to love the Bible and to trust in its promises; and I can truly say that the Scriptures have been illuminated for me by the daily study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, which she so wisely provided for us.

I went through school and college with a record of great activity, participating in athletic contests for about thirteen years, and have done strenuous mountain climbing, canoeing, skiing, and swimming. I have experienced activity in many fields, and through reliance on Christian Science alone I have been protected on long and arduous journeys through remote parts of the Orient and Europe. I have never had any fear while traveling abroad, as I always have felt God's presence guiding me. The twenty-third and ninety-first Psalms have come to me in moments of apparent danger, and through understanding God's love I have felt serene and expectant of good.

Once when I was alone in a European city I was healed of ptomaine poisoning in a few hours through reading Science and Health. I have been healed of jaundice, inflammatory rheumatism, lumbago, mastoiditis in a severe form, influenza, laryngitis, sprained ankle, boils, and many minor ailments which mortal education would try to fasten onto our human experience. Christian Science has helped me in maintaining a household, and it has been of untold comfort in bringing up three children. I am thankful for every year that these children have spent in the Christian Science Sunday School.
