AWAKE AND BE FREE

Man lives by divine law. He is not the puppet of circumstance or chance, of superstition or fear. He is the child of God, abiding in Truth, guided, guarded, and governed by God, loved of God, shepherded by God. Humanity needs to awaken to this divine law and thus find freedom. God's law is a wondrous thing. It appears to human consciousness as the holy, beneficent, living love of God, operating to free men from the so-called laws of sin, sickness, and death, of limitation, failure, and want.

The question, "What is God?" is answered by Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" as follows (p. 465): "God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love." Therefore the law of God is the law of divine Mind, of Spirit, Soul. It is the law of divine wisdom, in which there is not the slightest imperfection or defect, for divine wisdom includes within itself perfect justice, perfect mercy, and perfect purity. Since God is Principle, the author and creator of all things, the law of God is also the law of Principle which holds the stars in their courses and holds man forever perfect in righteousness and health, in joy and harmony.

Moses declared of God (Deut. 30:20), "He is thy life, and the length of thy days." Since God is Life—sinless, diseaseless, ageless, deathless Life forever made manifest in man—the law of God is the law of Life, the law of harmonious right activity, health, and supply.
