I submit my testimony with a heart overflowing with gratitude to God and with a prayer that it may help someone to find the sunlit way of life. Christian Science was introduced into my home when I was in my teens. However, I did not seriously begin the study of this beautiful, demonstrable religion until after I had been married a few years and had experienced two miscarriages. Doctors told me that I would probably never have children of my own and suggested that I try to adopt some legally. I would not accept their views as being true, for I knew enough about Christian Science to be certain that nothing is impossible to God. At this time I became an earnest student of Science. Within one year I gave birth to a daughter, and four years later another daughter arrived.

Christian Science, the law of God, good, has been my only physician for the past eleven years. I have been healed of pneumonia, influenza, hay fever, headaches, and a nervous disorder which threatened the happiness of our entire family. At one time our younger daughter became quite ill with the symptoms of polio, which then was receiving wide publicity by newspapers and radio. A Christian Science practitioner was called and work was taken up immediately. I was assured by the practitioner that God governs His creation completely and eternally and that, as Mrs. Eddy tells us (Science and Health, p. 224), "No power can withstand divine Love." The practitioner came to our home just once but continued to work for about two weeks, at the end of which time the child was her normal, happy, active self.

Following this healing our older daughter had a skin disease known as impetigo. This condition was also healed in a very short time with help from the practitioner, and the works of God were again made manifest. It is such a comfort to me to know that, regardless of what mortal mind names a difficulty, the right application of the truth, as taught in Science and Health, frees us. Our Master said (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
