For many years I have been encouraged and inspired by the testimonies which appear in the Christian Science periodicals, and I desire to add mine to them.

My introduction to Christian Science came when I saw a neighbor healed of cancer. This woman had been given up by the doctors as incurable after submitting to many surgical operations. She went to a Christian Science practitioner who lived in another city and in about three weeks came home well. More than twenty years later we visited with her in the state to which she had moved, and she was happy and healthy.

My first healing in Christian Science occurred after I had had two operations and had not been able to work for three months. After the second operation the surgeon told me that I would not be able to carry on my regular duty of assembling printing presses, which was heavy work. He said that I would have to find something light, like office work, to do. The same opinion was given by another surgeon whom I consulted.
