I am deeply grateful for all the healings I have had in Christian Science. One that stands out to me was the healing of a broken bone in my foot. This healing came through my own understanding of man's oneness, or unity, with God. The pain was very severe, but I knew that God would help me.

The suggestion came, however, that I could not think clearly because of the severe pain. I said aloud, "I can give thanks to God for our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and for what Christian Science is doing for me and all mankind." I found so much to be thankful for that I forgot all about the pain and fell asleep. Three hours later I stood on my feet while canning fruit. I remained standing for four hours, and although my foot was swollen and much discolored, I felt no discomfort. A few days later it was normal.

One month after this experience my husband's brother, a physician, came to visit us. When he learned of what had happened, he asked if he might take X rays. The pictures showed a complete healing. "Whoever did that job," he said, "must be a fine physician." I told him that God was my only physician.
