Upon awakening one morning I...

Upon awakening one morning I had difficulty in rising, and my body was filled with pain. I went to a chair and sat down. Then I began the study of the current weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, which had as its subject "Adam and Fallen Man."

Opening the Bible, I read (Gen. 1:26), "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over ... every creeping thing." Immediately my thought was awakened to this inspired statement, and I began to let God's likeness appear in my consciousness and to hold thought to it that I might have dominion.

I was able to reject suggestions of the name of the illness, its method of operation, and its power to interfere with the day's right activity or to deprive me of a sense of well-being. As each erroneous suggestion appeared, my thought became firmer in the truth. Thus joyously working with God and claiming my dominion, I partook of my early morning meal of spiritual food from the lesson. In doing so I was completely healed, and I walked forth freely and joyously.
