Signs of the Times

Dr. Joseph R. Sizoo in an article entitled "Observations on Korea" in The Military Chaplain Washington, District of Columbia

I have learned what Christian faith can do for individuals and for peoples. No one can live through experiences which have been mine without coming home with an ever-deepening conviction that the way of Christ is the way to a better world. When once [the Christ] takes possession of an individual or a group, men go back with a light in their eyes and a song in their hearts.

In Korea only ... [a small] per cent of the population are Christian. ... It is this Christian fellowship which is keeping alive the soul of Korea, giving it leadership and guidance and courage and undaunted hope. ... Wherever you go you will meet these Korean Christians early in the morning at day-break going to their little churches for prayer meetings.
