Christian Science has brought...

Christian Science has brought harmony into our home, where discord had held mesmeric sway. It is therefore with humility and deep gratitude that I give this testimony.

While on flying duties for three years during the Second World War, I had wonderful protection. Divine guidance was constantly mine in my work as an aerial navigator and radio operator, and this guidance revealed the infinite nature of God, His ever-presence. Airplane engine failures, hazardous weather conditions, poor communication facilities, the experience of being lost, and many other difficulties proved the necessity of constant vigilance in my daily thinking. Christian Science showed me the method of applying positive truths when aggressive suggestions of any kind presented themselves.

An instance of protection I should like to relate occurred as my fellow crew members and I were preparing for a take-off in a bomber. It was my practice to declare the facts about God's presence before starting a flight. This time I was led to speak to a member of the crew, cautioning him to change his position to another part of the aircraft. This he did. Shortly afterward, we crashed on the takeoff. Had this crew member remained in his previous position his legs would have been crushed. As it was, no one was injured; and except for a shaking up, we experienced no ill effects. For this and many more such instances of protection I am most grateful. Christian Science has led me in ways that human reasoning could not explain, and beautiful blessings have always resulted. For Mrs. Eddy's revelation and all the accompanying benefits that become available in this wonderful study of the truth, I shall remain ever grateful.—Owen M. Ridley, Beverly Hills, California.
