As a child I was required to attend an orthodox church and Sunday School, yet in our home there was always sickness, and doctors' bills necessitated a regular monthly expenditure. Our experiences at home and the teachings of the New Testament did not coincide, and I always thought that something was lacking, but I received no enlightenment about it either at home or at church.

During the year 1919 my work required that my wife and I live in a large city for a year. While there we lived next door to a family of Christian Scientists. For the first time we were brought into contact with Christian Science, and we knew that this was what we had been looking for. Since then we have had many healings. Physical and financial difficulties have been overcome, and Science has been of great value in my business life. My first healing was that of influenza, and this condition has never recurred, a fact which proves the permanency of spiritual healing.

Some time ago I was asked to direct a drive for funds for our local Young Men's Christian Association, as in our city of about seven thousand residents the Y.M.C.A. has never been self-supporting. After much prayerful thought on my part and much persuasion by the executive board of the "Y," I decided to comply with the request.
