"Man's extremity is God's opportunity." Such was the case when Christian Science was presented to me for a condition of dislocated hips, from which I had suffered since the time of my birth. I had just been released from an orthopedic hospital in Switzerland after I had received the most skillful material treatment possible. Fitted out with a walking iron that reached to my waist, I was told that nothing more could be done for me, and that I should never be able to earn my own living.

Then a friend who had been healed of epilepsy in a very short time told me of Christian Science. A practitioner was sent for, and treatment was begun. Within two weeks I was free from all pain and was walking without aid of any kind, much to the astonishment of those who knew me. This healing was complete and permanent.

Three years later I was suddenly taken ill with rheumatic fever of the severest form. Christian Science again came to my help, and I gained complete freedom. These two healings and many others took place in Switzerland, where I was born and brought up.
