Signs of the Times

From an editorial in The Protestant Herald Denver, Colorado

The times in which we live are making great demands upon our courage, our faith, and our spiritual insight. We call this present period our modern life, but we have come upon this period of the world's history as participants, asking for security in a not too modern world of confusion and uncertainty. If we are to be of any help at all in making decisions on the questions which circumstances have placed on the shoulders of our modern generation, then religion must play an active part in our lives.

Once more the Bible, God's greatest gift to mankind, is gaining its rightful place in the affections of humanity. ... I believe the reason for this renewed interest is that its universal message answers the deepest questionings of the human heart, whether modern or not, and it also presents the divine purpose running through human history.
