AN UNCOMPROMISING STAND FOR GOOD

A Little child's thought is often very strong in its uncompromising stand for good. A student of Christian Science, struggling with the suggestion of a severe headache, telephoned his wife to ask for help in Christian Science in order to unsee and thereby put an end to this error. His little four-year-old boy, gathering from the conversation that his father was having some trouble, asked to speak to him on the telephone. The child said: "God is All. God is everywhere." A short pause and then, "You all right, Daddy?"

"Yes," the father said, "I'm all right." He knew that, in reality, the boy's statement represented the truth, but in this instance his answer was more to satisfy the questioner than anything else. Then his wife came back to the telephone and the couple laughed a little over the conversation. Suddenly the father exclaimed: "Say, I am all right. The headache is gone." The child's firm declaration of the truth and his expectancy that healing must immediately follow had demonstrated once again that God's goodness is always available to those who are willing unquestioningly to accept it.

It must become clear to us that what is infinite cannot possibly become even slightly finite and still maintain its infinitude. Infinite God, perfect Mind, maintains His unlimited identity without making the slightest concession to limitation. God by His very nature cannot compromise with unloveliness, for He is divine Love; with ignorance, for He is omnipotent Mind; with unprincipled activity, for He is immutable Principle; with corporeality, for He is Spirit; with impurity, for He is Soul; with death, for He is Life; with error, for He is Truth; or with evil of any kind, for He is omnipresent good.
