"BEAR A SONG AWAY"

The mission of the music in a Christian Science service is to uplift and heal. With this truth in mind, let us who worship support the musicians as well as the Readers in order to make every moment of this blessed hour bear the fruitage for which it was designed.

Without doubt the most important contribution we can take to our service is an attitude of right expectation and undivided attention. This attitude is conducive to healing. It may be said that a Christian Science service can be as effective as a Christian Science treatment, because it affirms the allness of God and man's unity with Him in ways which arouse human thought to accept the truth of being.

One student of Christian Science went to church with a severe headache. It would have been much easier for her to stay at home, for the discomfort was acute, but her sincere feeling was that her right place for that hour was in church. Her healing was not long in being realized. At the conclusion of the prelude her thought was so uplifted that the pain vanished and she was free to give her attention to the service.
