On page 17 of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy we read, "At a meeting of the Christian Scientist Association, April 12, 1879, on motion of Mrs. Eddy, it was voted,—To organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing." What a glorious purpose this is and one that we can all help promote by healing as we are taught to do in Christian Science.

My experience has been a joyous and happy one in the demonstration of Christian Science. One of my first outstanding proofs of the power of Truth came at the birth of our first child. Although a difficult and painful birth had been predicted, the experience was painless and harmonious.

Our daughter was stricken with infantile paralysis one evening. We recognized the symptoms but did not name the disease to her. Treatment was requested from a Christian Science practitioner, and I stayed at the child's bedside, singing hymns and encouraging her, until four o'clock in the morning. The practitioner continued working that day, and by evening our daughter was running and playing, free and well. My gratitude for this experience was so deep that I could not talk of it for many months.
