"If men understood their real spiritual source to be all blessedness, they would struggle for recourse to the spiritual and be at peace." These words by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, on page 329 of Science and Health remind me of the increasing measure of blessings I have received since I took up the study of Christian Science.

This Science first came to my attention about forty years ago when our minister preached a sermon against it. I believed every word he said and resolved to save any Christian Scientist I should meet. Later I did meet one, a young woman of extraordinary qualities, so loving that I felt very close to her. When I began talking about religion she spoke so intelligently of God and the Bible that I realized her spiritual qualities were the result of her study and practice of her religion, Christian Science.

One day when alone in her living room I picked up a book entitled "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy, thinking that this was my opportunity to see what Mrs. Eddy taught. I was suffering from a cold and was receiving treatments from a nose specialist several times a week because of frequent colds and catarrh. I opened the book to page 239 and read an article entitled "'I've Got Cold.'" I was so impressed by the article that I completely forgot my appointments at the doctor's office, and when I received a letter reminding me of them I replied that I did not need any more treatments, as I was well. My extreme fear of colds was entirely gone.
