"HE CALLETH THEE"

"Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee."
So Bartimaeus rose and straightway came
To Jesus, who restored his sight; and, free,
He followed Jesus in the Way. His name
Must have been spread abroad in wonderment,
A testimony to the healing power
God gave His Son, who was divinely sent
To loose the suffering in their dark hour.
"Thy faith hath made thee whole." Wherever trust
In God takes root, there springs immortal seed
That cannot wither; flourishing, it must
Bring forth the fruitage of some healing deed.
He calleth thee. "Be of good comfort, rise;"
Love gives the strength to break all earthborn ties.
