It is with gratitude that I bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science. About fifteen years ago I was taken ill with a severe case of dysentery, from which five doctors gave me no relief. After the fifth doctor had given me a final examination he told me that in addition to the dysentery I had a tumor the size of an orange and needed an operation at once.

I left the doctor's office and called a Christian Science practitioner, to whom I told my trouble. She said that she would help me, and she quoted Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." Within a month I was completely healed of the dysentery, and there has been no further sign of a tumor.

An undesirable skin condition, which I had had since childhood, grew so bad about four years ago that it covered my entire body, except my face. I was hardly able to sleep at night because of the great discomfort, and I seldom went out of my house. However, I did go to a Church of Christ, Scientist, because I felt a sense of peace there. As I continued to attend, the condition improved, and with the help of a faithful practitioner it was entirely healed when I realized that, as our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says (ibid., p. 332), "Into the real and ideal man the fleshly element cannot enter." During this time I was much helped by following the teaching of Christian Science to look away from the body to the spiritual idea of God.
