"To those leaning on the sustaining...

"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings," writes our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. vii). It was indeed a day "big with blessings" when I turned to Christian Science for relief from a nervous breakdown and a fibroid tumor after medical science had failed to help me. Physicians stated that I would never be able to walk again unless I had an operation. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner, however, I was completely healed.

These remarkable healings took place in 1932, and since then I have had many other healings, including those of sick headaches, influenza, and grief. Business problems have been solved, and a harmonious home has been re-established. I have been able to lay aside glasses, which I had used continually for about eight years. Previously when I had taken them off I had suffered from headaches. This healing came after I had studied the definition of eyes which Mrs. Eddy gives on page 586 of Science and Health. I was also helped by this statement (ibid., p. 486): "Sight, hearing, all the spiritual senses of man, are eternal. They cannot be lost. Their reality and immortality are in Spirit and understanding, not in matter, —hence their permanence."

I am deeply grateful to be a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church, where it has been my joyous privilege to serve on various committees. I wish to express gratitude for class instruction from a consecrated teacher, and I am grateful to God for all the good that the Christian Science teachers and practitioners are doing for the world today.— (Mrs.) Edith K. Tincher, Cleveland, Ohio.
