I am deeply grateful to God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and for her discovery of Christian Science, which has filled my life with happiness and peace. About thirty years ago I was led to Christian Science by one for whom I shall never cease to be grateful. My first healing came through the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner. It was an instantaneous healing of acute attacks of indigestion, from which I had been suffering for a long time. I have never had a return of this difficulty in the more than thirty years since.

As a young girl in my teens I had a nervous breakdown which kept me out of school for three years and resulted in St. Vitus's dance. The fear of being made fun of made my life a nightmare most of the time.

The condition improved as I grew older, but I was told by the doctors that I would never have complete control of my right side again or be entirely free from nervousness.
