On page 304 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read, "This is the doctrine of Christian Science: that divine Love cannot be deprived of its manifestation, or object; that joy cannot be turned into sorrow, for sorrow is not the master of joy; that good can never produce evil; that matter can never produce mind nor life result in death."

Some time ago my husband and I were struck down by an automobile. Christian Science help for both of us was immediately requested. His injuries, consisting of a fracture of the knee and bruises, were quickly healed through Christian Science, and he was able to give me devoted assistance. My difficulties were a compound fracture of both legs, a broken right arm, a badly mutilated head, and a severe case of shock. No hope was held out for my recovery by the surgeon who set the broken bones.

Christian Science treatment was called for, and I was taken to New York City to a sanatorium for Christian Scientists, where the workers are trained to care tenderly for those in need. There I improved day by day with never a setback. I shall never cease to be grateful for the splendid work of the practitioners who were employed on the case at different times and for the encouragement given me by my teacher.
