The life of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, is ever an inspiration to me. I am grateful for her purity of thought, which enabled her to give to the world Christian Science, the truth that never fails to heal and bless when honestly sought and rightly applied.

When I was a junior in high school I developed a very serious eye trouble, which the doctors said would ultimately result in blindness. I was forced to give up my schoolwork and spend most of the time in darkness, as the light caused severe pain to my eyes. Two years later Christian Science came into my life, and I experienced an instantaneous healing of stomach trouble of many years' standing. Gradually my vision improved, and the pain in my eyes left me as I studied and applied Christian Science; but I continued to wear very strong glasses. I did not experience a complete healing until some time later while reaching out to gain a better understanding and a fuller realization of the truth through class instruction.

When attending class one morning I misplaced my glasses. I asked my teacher for help, for I could not read without them. She very lovingly assured me that I could never be outside of God's care and that whatever I needed to see I would be able to see. All sense of fear left me, and that evening when I was studying I found that I could see to read without the slightest difficulty. This healing took place seven years ago, and I have never had to resort to glasses again, even though in my work I use my eyes constantly for close reading. I am truly grateful for class instruction from a devoted teacher.
