When I first heard of Christian Science...

When I first heard of Christian Science I was suffering from a nervous breakdown. I had consulted many doctors, including a psychiatrist; but they could do nothing to help me. I was told by one doctor that I could do much for myself, but that he did not know how I was to do this. Fear and a sense of desperation seemed to have taken possession of me. One day while in the doctor's office awaiting my turn, I was led to walk across the hall to the office of a Christian Science practitioner.

I was shown how through Christian Science I could help myself, and in about three months, after almost constant study and many calls on the practitioner for help, I was able to resume a normal life of being a good wife and mother. A short time later I took up a profession which I followed successfully for twenty years. Of course I continued with my study of Christian Science, and to the best of my understanding I have put into practice what I have learned.

The doctor who said that he could do nothing more for me, later sent one of his patients to me for Christian Science help. I never knew how he found out that I had taken up the study of Christian Science, but I was glad he recognized that it had brought about my healing; and I was glad to be of help. I have been healed of many difficulties through the study and application of Christian Science. A growth on my wrist, which before I took up the study of this Science a doctor had said I would always have unless it were operated on, disappeared through my own application of the truth. Another healing was that of sinus infection.
