"To those leaning on the sustaining...

"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessing," writes Mrs. Eddy in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health (Pref., p. vii). I can truthfully say that I find every day to be "big with blessings" in the degree that I rely faithfully on God to meet my needs.

Members of my family began the study of Christian Science when I was very young. We lived in a small town, where a few students met in a private home for the Sunday service. There was also an hour set aside for Sunday School. As the result of the thorough training that I received in the Sunday School, I began to experience the blessings that these practical truths bring into our lives.

Some of the healings that I have witnessed are of broken bones, warts, a deeply embedded corn, automobile accident. During the birth of our first child, the attending physician expressed grave concern, since he felt that a bad laceration was inevitable. This was given immediate attention by a student of Christian Science, and within a very short while the baby was born harmoniously. The birth of our second child was harmonious too. It was over with quickly, and I was up the next day. The same physician was in charge both times; he was very kind and respected my request that I be spared all the medical attention that is usually given at such a time. He later told me that he wished that all his patients were Christian Scientists and were as fearless and cheerful as I had been. In addition to this, he asked many questions about my religion.
