There are many beautiful promises...

There are many beautiful promises in the Bible. Many years ago I found one of them and made it my own. It is from Joel (2:25), "I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten." It was a comfort when the way seemed hard. I suffered so long a time with an internal trouble that finally I despaired of ever being well. The doctors wanted to operate, and the thought of suicide haunted me.

One day my husband was advised to take me to a Christian Science practitioner, and with the first treatment I noticed that some very unlovely thoughts had left me. A copy of The Christian Science Journal was given me, and I became so interested that I wanted to read it all the time. After a week's treatment I was well. I could work all day and not be tired, and I read something of Christian Science every available moment.

The understanding came very slowly. I am thankful to Mrs. Eddy for showing us how to practice the law of God as given in the Bible, and I am grateful to God, our Father-Mother, and to Christ Jesus for his practical example of the truth. I have seen many proofs of the healing power of scientific right thinking.
